You can conclude a compensation review at any time. Concluding the review closes it and removes edit access to all reviewers and approvers, including final approvers. Changes cannot be made to the compensation review after it has been concluded. Reviewers and approvers can still view what they could see during the cycle.

Concluding a compensation review does not update employee compensation in ChartHop. The proposed changes stay in the compensation review. To apply them, export the changes and load them into your payroll system or HRIS, or import them into ChartHop.

When you conclude a compensation review, you have the ability to include whether the compensation review was concluded with or without final approval.

To conclude a review:

1. Open an existing compensation review. The compensation review must be **Active** or **Paused**.
2. Select **Conclude review** at the top right of the screen. The **Conclude comp review** dialog displays.
3. In the **Conclude comp review** dialog, select whether the compensation review cycle is being concluded with or without approval:
 - **Conclude without final approval** - Select this option when the changes proposed in this cycle have not been fully approved and you are closing this compensation review for other reasons. This changes the status of the compensation review to **Completed**. This option is selected by default.
 - **Conclude with final approval** - Select this option when the final approvers have marked all proposals as reviewed and given their final approval to all proposed changes. This changes the status of the compensation review to **Approved**.
4. Select **Conclude**. This completes and updates the compensation review cycle status to either **Approved** or **Completed**.

### Reopen a concluded compensation review

Concluded compensation reviews with a status of **Completed** or **Approved** can be reopened. Reopening returns the review to a **Paused** state. All previous proposals and cycle settings are kept.

To reopen a concluded compensation review:

1. Open an existing compensation review. The compensation review must be **Completed** or **Approved**.
2. Select **Reopen review** at the top right of the screen. The **Reopen comp review** dialog displays.
3. Select **Reopen**. The compensation review returns to a **Paused** state. Make any changes you need, then select **Resume** to make the review **Active** again. [Learn more.](https://docs.charthop.com/managing-a-compensation-review)

### Export changes

You can export the compensation changes made during the review to a spreadsheet that you can then upload to your payroll system or HRIS. You can export while the compensation review is **Active**, **Completed**, or **Approved**. **Export** is unavailable while the review is **Paused**. You must be an **Owner** of the compensation review to export.

The spreadsheet includes one row per change. The first column is **Effective date**, which uses the **Payroll effective date** if one is set, or otherwise the **Org data reference date**. The other columns are the reviewer workbook columns you select. Employees excluded from the review are not included.

To export a spreadsheet with the results of your compensation review:

1. Open an existing compensation review. The compensation review must be **Active**, **Completed**, or **Approved**.
2. Select **Export** at the top right of the screen, then select **Export spreadsheet data**. The **Export Compensation Review** dialog displays.
3. Choose your export options:
 - **Data formatting** - Choose **Optimize for readability** or **Optimize for import/export**.
 - **Split complex types** - Choose **Single column** or **Split into separate columns**.
 - **Columns** - Select **Customize…** to choose which reviewer workbook columns to include.
 - **Reviewers** - Choose reviewers to export only their proposals and the proposals of everyone under them.
 - Location - Choose locations to export only employees in those locations.
4. Select **Export CSV**. ChartHop generates a spreadsheet with your compensation data.
5. Once the spreadsheet is done generating, select **Download Export**, then select **Close**.
