Test custom profile tabs

When creating sensitive content in your profile tabs that should be viewed only by manager roles or above, you can test your tabs prior to saving them in order to ensure that the right content is visible to the right people.

Test who can see a profile tab

You can ensure that the right members of your ChartHop organization receive access to the tab in their employee profiles.

Testing tab visibility through configuration

To test your custom profile tab configuration:

  1. In the Settings option in the left sidebar, select Profile tabs.
  2. Select the tab you wish to test from the top of the view.
  3. In the Tab Configuration section, apply your filters under the Only Visible for Members Matching Filter.
  4. To test your filters, select Test.
  5. You can ensure that the right employees are given access to the tab by confirming them in the list in the Data Sheet.

After creating a tab, if you do not see it in the employee's profile tab list, double check in the tab's Tab Configuration that Active is toggled on and that Sensitivity is set to Org public.

Test content accessibility

To test content visibility for individual tab blocks in your custom profile tabs:

  1. In the Settings option in the left sidebar, select Profile tabs.
  2. Select the tab you wish to test from the top of the view.
  3. In the Tab Block section, in the tab block for the content you wish to apply your filters, apply your filters under the Only Visible for Members Matching Filter.
  4. Select Test to test your filters.
  5. You can ensure that the right employees will be able to view the content within the block by confirming them in the list in the Data Sheet.
