Using field categories in the column chooser

Before learning to use field categories, make sure you've created them in ChartHop.

Field categories help organize fields when adding them to Data sheet views from the column chooser.

In this guide, you'll learn to:

  1. Open the column chooser
  2. Locate the desired field category
  3. Select the desired fields
  4. Modify the column order as needed

1. Open the column chooser

The column chooser lets you pick the columns that are shown on the data sheet.

Open the Data sheet module, and click on Choose columns.

2. Locate the desired field category

The column chooser shows all available fields and field categories.

Locate the desired field category by either searching for it in the search box, or finding it in the list of categories on the left-hand side of the pop-up.

3. Select the desired fields

You can now either add the whole category to the current view, or pick and choose the fields that you need. Simply click the checkbox next to the category or field(s) that you need.

4. Modify the column order as needed

If needed, you can now change the order of the columns as they appear in the data sheet view. Simply drag and drop the columns listed in the Column order list to their desired location.
