Acting as a delegate
when someone sets you as their approval delegate, you will receive an in app notification and email confirming the assignment when a delegated approval lands in your queue, it appears in your my tasks list on the charthop home screen alongside your own tasks each delegated task shows delegated by \[name] so you always know whose behalf you are acting on the assigned for column shows the original approver's name for time off approvals, you will also receive the same slack notification the original approver would get, including interactive approve and reject buttons taking action from my tasks, click through to the approval to review it and take action as a delegate you can approve the request reject the request (you can include a reason) comment on the request for scenario approvals, you can also edit the scenario's changes while the approval is pending, the same way the original approver can if you are both a direct approver and a delegate for one or more co approvers in the same stage, a single approve action resolves all of those slots at once if you reject, it applies to the first actionable slot and terminates the stage per normal rejection behavior how attribution works all actions you take as a delegate are attributed to you in the approval history, and recorded as acting on behalf of the original approver for example, the approval timeline will show jane smith approved on behalf of john doe the original approver receives an in app notification and email when you approve or reject on their behalf if you reject with a reason, that reason is included in the notification when the approval completes once an approval is fully resolved (approved or rejected), the task is removed from both your queue and the original approver's queue
