Viewing compensation bands

once your compensation bands are set up, charthop gives you two ways to view them a table view and a graph view switch between them with the table / graph toggle at the top of the compensation bands screen to open it, go to compensation bands in your org use the date picker in the header to view your bands (and people) as of any point in time filtering what you see both views share the same filters job level — narrow to one or more levels tier filters — up to three dropdowns labeled with your org's configured tier names (for example, department or location) currency — when your org has more than one currency configured, choose the currency to display band ranges and employee pay are converted into it (the currency selector appears in the graph view header ) table view the table view lists each band with its range values (minimum, midpoint, maximum) and the job level and tiers it applies to use it when you want to read exact numbers or scan bands row by row table view lists each band's min, midpoint, and max graph view the graph view draws each band as a horizontal bar spanning its pay range, from minimum to maximum this makes it easy to compare band widths and where ranges overlap across levels hover any band bar to see a summary card the band label, its job level and tier values, and the band's base min , base midpoint , and base max in the band's currency hover a band to see its min, midpoint, and max showing employees on the graph turn on show employees to overlay your people directly on the band ranges each employee appears as an avatar positioned along their band's bar at their annualized base pay — so you can see at a glance where everyone sits and who falls outside their band an employee's avatar ring is color coded a neutral ring means the person's pay is within band a red ring means they are out of band — below the minimum or above the maximum these avatars plot to the left or right of the bar employees with no assigned band or no base pay are not plotted click any avatar to open that person's detail panel with show employees on, each person appears at their annualized base pay along the band pay is annualized and converted to the selected display currency before an employee is positioned band tooltips still show the band's native currency values focusing the overlay when show employees is on, an employee overlay panel appears with two ways to focus only out of band — hides in band employees so you see just the people below or above their band employee filter — search and filter the plotted people by person, group, or field (for example, a single team or department) reading employee and band details hover an employee's avatar to see their name, their band, their base pay, and a status line within band amount under band — how far their pay is below the band minimum amount over band — how far their pay is above the band maximum out of band statuses show a warning icon in red when employees are shown, each band's tooltip also adds employees below band and employees above band counts, highlighted in red when non zero
