The Guest role is given to people outside of your organization who have a need to view your org chart or other non-sensitive data.  

No sensitive data access is also granted with this role. Data sharing rules apply to all users regardless of role. Owners of artifacts like scenarios, reports, compensation reviews, and forms can restrict access to the respective artifact by person or filter.

Typical ChartHop responsibilities for someone with this role:

  • Viewing ChartHop to understand the organization.

Common organization titles for users who need the Guest access role:

  • Contractors
  • Investors

The table below lists how users with this role can use the respective pages. If a page is not listed, users with this role cannot access that page.

Org Chart

  • Can view and filter.

Data Sheet

  • Can create custom views.
  • Cannot edit any data other than their own personal information.
  • Can share views.

Map

  • Can edit their own location.

Home page

  • Can view all public information. 
  • Can view and complete their own tasks and Todos.

Reports

  • Can create reports.
  • Can view reports that have been shared with them.

Scenarios

  • Can create scenarios.
  • Can view scenarios that have been shared with them.

Employee profiles

  • View others' public information.
  • Edit their own personal information.
  • Set what information of theirs that others can see.
  • Can view compensation data for those in their reporting line.
  • Can view manager-shared forms that are part of the profile, such as 1:1 forms.

History

  • Can view, filter and export historical data.

Comp Reviews

  • Can view and approve a comp review that they have been assigned.
